How do I set my default export setting to ACAD 2004 or why is in not possible? I don't want to have to select this every time and all the people we work with don't always have the latest version of ACAD.

I have been wondering the same thing. In Revit 2010 it automatically defaults to export in Autocad 2010. Revit 2009 was set to export AutoCAD to 2007 format.

I would amuse if it is possible it would be a simple line in the revit.ini file.

The other item that would be helpful if when you are creating a bath print it defaults to no sheets ticked. We all have had to many mistaken batch plots sent to the printer.

Its not possible in 2010. It previously defaulted to 2007 DWG because there was no 2010 DWG, so 2007 was the last "new file format."

Well, it is bs that you cannot set anther default. Programming wise is must be the easiest thing in the world to add. ACAD 2010 can open older version but older versions cannot open ACAD 2010 so why would you want to export in the latest version? You'd either be indifferent or want to export in an earlier version.

AutoDESK's way of "encouraging" people to upgrade.
I agree its kind of silly not to have the option to set a earlier default but Revit has always defaulted to the latest .dwg format. Just so happens we are ina transition year. Wait til 2013 and everybody will be annoyed that its not exporting .dwg 2010 by default.

I agree it stinks that you dont have the OPTION to set another default, but to answer your second question:

We always export to the latest format. We have 3 trades in house, in Revit Arch, Revit Structure, ACA, AutoCAD, and Civil3D. All 2010. We only save/export down if a consultant explicitly asks us to.

Well OK I can see this, it should be an Option only to have another default then. We are in Africa and often get asked to save down though-:)
