View Full Version : HELP: Cannot make faces / select points

I have a conceptual Mass (attached). In it are two forms, composed of 6 planes each. This is an imported CAD file (though built in Sketchup). For whatever reason, Revit will not allow me to create/import these 12 total planes...

Ultimately, I will import these 12 planes into my project and use them to define curtain wall systems. I just can't get over this hurdle: Revit will allow me to select some of the lines / points / planes, but not all. I've imported this within both a conceptual mass and my Project file.

Can someone take a look at this? Am I being daft? A little help with defining these points would be -fantastic- !

Thanks!

I was able to create Curtain Systems from your Cad dwg.

1. Created new Mass family.
2. Imported cad into Mass
3. Saved Mass family

4. Created new Revit Project
5. Loaded Mass family into Project
6. Using Massing tools, clicked on faces and converted to curtain systems.

There you have it.

Hmm, awesome.

I also found a long, painful workaround by cutting geometry in Sketchup, exporting as DWG, re-importing into a conceptual model, editing and finally bringing it into a project file. Ugh.

Your way is much better. I'll give it another pass when I've time, though I can't figure out why it didn't work for me the first time around.

Thanks much!

FYI--

You can import .skp files directly into Revit. No need to convert to Acad.
