I have an issue where a sheet got deleted somehow. I have an older version of the file and I was wondering if there was a way to copy that sheet back to the file and have it retain all the callouts etc?? Please advise. Thanks for any tips.
Regards Peter.

You can copy the sheet, and any drafting or schedule views, but nothing much beyond that. The View References will not come back across at all. You'll have to make/remake the views, and place them on the sheet. You might then be able to by view, load 2D components from the backup file view to the recreated view, one view at a time. I don't know if I ever tried it on a plan view. It works for sections etc.

If the callouts were detailed and everything, you can get everything back, its just not as simple as a copy and paste. Well, it is... But several Copy and pastes.
As scott indicated, you can bring a sheet and drafting views. Any live views, its a multi step (but still very quick) process:
1. Copy the view marker (callout, section marker, etc)
2. Paste to current file.
3. In backup go IN the view, select everything, filter down to just detail items, lines, text, dims, detail groups, tags, etc... Copy to clipboard.
4. Back to current file, go to new view you just created, and paste alligned current view.
It works for 90% of it. A few dims may still be unhappy and drop off...
