I have a small cropped detail of a building section. when I turn the crop region off, and show the whole section, I can see the level annotations no problem . I click to toggle and change them to 2d , from 3d, and then drag them so that they cross through the region I'd like to have cropped for my detail . as soon as I turn the crop region back on, the level lines disapear and go back to their previous location and toggle back to 3D.

I've tried pinning the level annotation in place after i've moved it. and I'm hesitant to move it in it's 3d toggle mode, as I'm not sure if the other team members have it showing up in other views......

I've even tried turning the annotation crop off too.

any suggestions or insight ?

You might try using a Scope Box and select all Levels and Grids and attach them to it.

cheers.........

Don't scope boxes only work for plan views ? I'm working on a wall section.

for the time being I've got a dummy annotation drawing with lines, but I'm sure there's a way to have revit show what I want.

No. Scope Boxes are intended to be used as a 3D Model Datum.

You may be thinking of Crop Regions or Section Boxes.
(Section boxes are 3D also.)

I'd seriously look at using a Scope Box to align Levels and Grids.
