Hi
First up just to let you know i know absolutely nothing about 3D, am just trying to learn how to use it to model surveyed data.
The problem i have is that Autocad seems to lose where the graphics area is in the drawing.
I try to move the cursor up and it stops at a random point and jumps to the ribbon. If i cut and paste into a new drawing it seems to be fine for a while then the same thing happens.
I have tried it on 2010 and 2009 and does the same thing on both.
Any suggestions as to what i could do would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I tried on my PC & it looks fine.
The only thing I could tell is your system memory is low possibly.
Restart your PC & try it again.
PS. How much memory with your system?

I have 2Gb of Ram.
I dont think it would be memory as i have tried rebooting. It seems fine for a while, sometimes as long as 5 minutes, and then goes weird.
Regen / closing the drawing / restarting Autocad seem to have no affect, the only time i can stop it is if i copy and paste into a blank drawing.
I tried opening the drawing on 2009 (on a different computer) and it did the weird thing as well.
Thanks for your help

I have 4GB of ram & am running 2010.
I had similar before & restarting the PC solved the problem.
Will it be solved if you copy every thing to blank drawing & save it to a new drawing.

I have just tried it on another machine with 3Gb of ram and after copy and pasting to a new drawing it still does the same.

Try this. I've set the target point to 0,0,0.

Thanks, It seemed to work until i did a 3DOrbit and then the problem reoccurred.

3dorbit changes the value of Target but the cursor continues to behave correctly on my machine no matter what I do. :(

Thanks ...
I think i have solved the problem, i have moved the drawing so it is much closer to 0,0 rather than at the coords it was at (x= 300,000,000, Y=6,000,000,000).
So far it is working fine
Thanks for your help.
