Custom Area Tag

We are trying to create a custom area tag that includes:

1. Square Feet
2. Room Occupancy
3. Occupant Load Factor
4. Number of Required Exits
5. Occupany Type

Attached is how far we have been able to go. We can create labels and parameters all we want in the family, but when we load this tag into the project the labels and parameters disappear. Anyone know how to do this or have any direction?

Ask yourself this very simple question. What am I tagging?
You are tagging the area object, and you want your tag to display certain properties of those areas. Well... the areas must have the same properties that the tag is supposed to be reading, right? So add the same shared parameters to your areas (via project parameters) that you have labeled in your tag and you are all set.
