changing workplane of existing objects

I have a model in revit 2010 and i noticed that some of the families are on the wrong workplane. When I click on "element properties", the workplane is greyed out. how can I change which workplane these puppies are on?

Try clicking the object to highlight it when in the project, then see if there is a button
on the ribbon for "reset host" or "pick host"--then select the floor or surface the object
should be hosted on.

Thanks -- it works with some of our objects. The only problem I'm still having is what do do with families which are wall based, because they are not rehosted to the correct workplane, even if the walls they are hosting to are. Any suggestions?

For wall based families, you might have to go to their element properties and change the offset.
