I am starting my first project in Revit. I am trying to create our title block and other text sizes. I have found myself to be confused on how to go about it.
I have the title block in with no problem. I have defined the sheet number, sheet name, client name, logo, drawn by, etc. But I am trying to create 2 more text items and ran into problems. I need a revision issue and date text field to only show up when I need to on only the sheets that are needed and a "preliminary- not for construction" text that can be turned on and off when we send some prints off prior to an issue.
I am confused as to the text families that pop up and are different within the title block family, and the general tag/annotation family, etc. It seems we have to create a multitude of text families(sizes, bold, etc.) for title block, families, project template etc.
I have taken a fundamentals course for Revit but it did not include this type of customization. Can anyone clear this up for me.

Thanks,
Dale

If you are using 7 then the revision tracking tutorial will show you how to introduce the revision markings into a titleblock. A switchable 'preliminary' tag can be achieved by use of shared paramaters as described here http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=11115&highlight=shared

Thank you Pete. I just loaded 7 and will look into that.
Seems like 7 has a lot of great addition.
