I'm demoing Revit on two machines. My workstation has 2GB of RAM & Vista and seems to do fine with Revit. My older laptop has only 512MB of RAM and crashes about every 5 minutes. Unfortunately it's maxed out for RAM, so I can't add more. I tried running it on my wife's laptop, which has 1GB & Vista, but it wouldn't load past the splash screen.

Is this a question of minimum RAM? Is there some workaround? I expected it to run slowly with insufficient memory, but I wasn't expecting all theses crashes.

If you have a look at Autodesk system requirements here you will see that your 2 laptops will definately struggle with Revit.

If you do a search in here http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15 you will see plenty threads that discuss Revit and what kind of hardware it requires.

Several programs you can usually get around without meeting the minimum requirements for, unfortunately, Revit is not one of those. If you don't meet the minimum requirements, it crashes.
