I created a generic model face based void to create features/recesses in walls, floors, etc. I wanted to schedule the perimeter dimension for blockout estimate. However, the parameters I need to schedule aren't available fields in the multi-category schedule. Any ideas how to get the perimeter of a generic model to show up in a schedule?

You'll need to change the family to some other catagory. Multi-catagory schedules only show (in my limited experience with them) paramters that are common to ALL catagories in your model.

Thanks for the response Scott. I didn't know you could do that. It worked! I just changed my generic model to the window category so now I can schedule all blockout openings and recesses (modeled with the void) in the same schedule.

You can do it with multi-category schedules, but you'll need a parameter that you can use to filter so only the generic model you want to schedule shows up. Use the "filter - equals or contains" to limit your selection. This will help your non-window family from interfering with you real window schedules (or which ever category you might change a generic model to be).

You may also need to select "add Parameter" and navigate to your shared parameter file and add the parameters of your "blockout". Assign the correct Parameter Data to it and then check the Generic Model box under Categories
