Hiding a dimension

I know for sure that in one of the earlier versions of revit I was able to either select a dimension an choose to hide it as in "hide annotation" or create a style that i could turn off. But I can't seem to be able to do that in 7. Can anyone shed some light on that?

That ability disappeared in 6.1, and remains gone in 7.0.

Bummer...I read the thread and still don't understand why it was removed. Its trading one set of problems for another. Man did anyone vote on this?
