I am trying to tag floor elevations in my auditorium but the elevation tag will only tag the edges of the floor slab. Now since it is an auditorium i see the same floors in the mezzanine view- and i have had no problems tagging the elevations of THE SAME FLOORS anywhere on the floor- it does not limit me to the edges. I am using the same spot elevation tag from first to mezzanine. Does anyone know why this would be? Anyone have any ideas on how i can fix it?

Are the floors sloping? if so, are they edited with points, or a slope arrow?
Try going to a section and see if the spot elev. tool works there?
Perhaps post an example?
cheers...

It is not sloped. see attached pdfs of the mezzanine that is tagged properly, the section that is tagged properly, and the first floor that is being a butthead! :)

Try creating a Plan Region at one of the lower floor tiers with a custom View Depth,
and see if you can then apply the spot elevation.
I suspect it is something with View Range that's causing the problem.
Also, go to a 3D view and isolate the floor slabs and elevation tags--see if they tag
in the 3D view?

Make sure you are not in wireframe. The spot elevation needs a surface or an edge to work.
