In ACAD the dynamic block has a function where by a distance parameter can be set to incremental. This is handy for things like "stretching" a block (e.g. a piece of wood board) in even increments, like 4".

Is there a way to do this in Revit that does not include making dozens of family types? For instance, is it possible to control the distance of an instance parameter using snaps, or ref planes?

Maybe you could constrain your geometry to a nested array that forces the increments you want?

Or maybe rely on a formula that forces increments?

I'm not sure but it seems like it would be possible.

It´s easy to control with a few parameters, and some simple formulas - A picture speaks a thousand words, so just take a look at the screen dump

BTW: + 0.49 or - 0.49 could be added to the end of the last formula: (User Dim / Increment) making sure that the incrementet dim gets rounded either up or down...
