I know you can split the materials in a wall type to have say an 8" block backup and a 4" brick cavity be able to move vertically independant of each other. Can the wall be broken up into more than just two moving elements? I have a situation where a metal panel is on 1/2" sheathing over 2" metal studs on 2" rigid insulation on 8" cmu. This wall falls over a flat roof area. I would like the cmu to go down to bearing, the stud framing to sit on the roof deck and the metal panel to start 8-12" off the finished roof to accomodate roof flashing. So my question is can the wall be broken up into (3) regions to move vertically?

Nope... Revit will only allow two layers of the wall to move vertically independant of each other...

However, there´s a couple of solutions that I can think of....

1. In the section view, you can use the "Modify > Cut Section" tool to simultate what you´r looking for...

2. If needed in multiple views (or just one 3D view) create an in-place void, to cut the undesired part of the wall....

Good luck
