Roof Cut

Hell_o.....I have attached and image of an intersecting gabled roof. I'm wondering if there is an easy way to cut out the portions below the overhangs (shown in orange). I cant get it to work via 'join roofs', 'cut', ect....Do I need to create a model in place void to subtract it? Is there another way to model with the roof tools? Peace and love.

Under Modify, go to the "Opening" tool. There are a couple of varieties available,
try using the "vertical opening" or perhaps the "dormer" option.

Check the Help files for details on how to use these.

Draw it as one roof, using slope arrows on each side...see attached.

Thanks to you both (and sorry for my slow response). I have worked on flat roofs only up to this point. Both methods worked for me. Cheers!
