Join geometry tool works, but doesn't erase line in elevation

Hello,

I am using the join geometry tool to join a some generic walls together so it will read as one solid wall. While the tool worked and successfully joined walls together, the lines are still showing in my elevation view of when they were previously separate masses. Does anyone know of a better way to join so the line will disappear in elevation? My only other thought is to use the invisible line tool but I thought I should only do that as a last resort option....

Sometimes, you will get a line if their structural usage is different. One wall is bearing, the other isn't.

Also, see if in Plan view the intersecting walls can be "pulled back" to attach to the interior
face of the outside walls--sometimes they"dig in" to the core and show up on the exterior elevations.
