Smaller Section Tail

I'm trying to figure out how to make my section tails smaller. I have looked in their element properties, but it does not enable me to right click and open the family for editing. When I click manage and open up the section tags section, I can see the family I have modified, but when I select the new smaller type which I have created, nothing happens. does anyone have experience with modifying these tags?

besides fixing the family you have to assign it to a section view.

manage tab - settings - section tags - there you will get the dialog box you need.

Thanks CADMama I appreciate your help. It just took a little fiddling around in that settings menu to achieve the desired effect.
