View Full Version : What is wrong with this roof?

I made this hip roof in the normal way, but for some reason when I split one of the slope-defining lines to create a small door overhang, I ended up with a little "lip" edge on the roof extending all the way up to the hip edge. The slope defining lines on both sides of the overhang are exactly the same - slope, plate offset, everything. So why this lip? If I get rid of the overhang sketch lines and extend the remaining 2 slope-defining lines together, the lip goes away.

Only one of the lines to the side of the door extension needs to define slope. The other can be turned off. The other line is making a second slope?

It has to be the line that is at the corner that defines the slope and that line only

That got it. Seems odd, though, that part of the roof would be offset by some random fraction of inch, like 113/256" or something like that.
