I have an existing exhaust duct that runs Vertical serving below and above. I am tapping into this but not sure what I should be doing. I feel like I should be adding an exhaust connector at the top of my duct ( i have it just running thru the floor above) and maybe a cap on the bottom of the duct? To add a connector to the end of a vertical duct should I use a ref plane? If someone could suggest a previous thread that will help me...thanks

There is no work above and below so I just have a straight vert run thru the floors

You should be able to place connectors, fittings, ducts, etc... in a section view.

cool, but does the connector have to go on the end of my duct?

I'm thinking "real world" here and you'd probably want to use a UNION. That is, after all, how they would connect a new duct to an existing, right?
