Here's is what I want to do: I have a 3D building model. I want to turn this model into an interactive model where a client can select an element and view attributes/parameters attached to that element. These attributes/parameters can be drawing numbers that refer to the element, RFI's, photos that show the element etc.
Ideally, the user should be able to click or interact with the element in someway and a pop-up menu/window shows all attributes, links to photos etc.
Does Navisworks have this functionality? Can you setup a model for viewing with the free player that does what I described?
I'll also appreciate it greatly if you name any alternative programs that can do this.

That should be able to be done. Navisworks Manage/Review/Simulate allow you to attach hyperlinks to model objects/elements. All your attributes and parameters can be viewed through the Freedom Viewer.

If there are multiple photos and links per element, can you set multiple links and access those from the Viewer easily?
I'm imagining a window that pops up when you click an element, which has links to all photos, drawings etc assigned to the element.

You *can* assign multiple hyperlinks, but only one of them can be made current. Presumably that would be the job of a plug-in. Simpler route, would be to point the single NavisWorks hyperlink to an HTML or PDF index with links to the collection in question.

You can put multiple links per element, or just link to an excel file which contains links out to everything else you want.

It looks like when I add a hyperlink to an object, there's a hyperlink icon (or can be changed to text) that's clickable. Is there a way to make the entire object area clickable without and icon or text? (In the attached picture, the yellow rectangle is an object, I want to make the whole think clickable and lose the icon)

you can set the distance that it will show up, or set the number of avaliable hyperlinks to 0 in the global options

When I set the available hyperlinks to 0, there is no hyperlink visible. how do I follow the hyperlink then? I'm trying to open the hyperlink when there's no hyperlink icon visible.
