Hi

I have created a room area schedule in Revit. I want to export it to Excel. Can anyone please tell me the procedure for that?? Awaiting replies.

open schedule

file \ export \ schedule (schedule will be greyed-out if you are not viewing the schedule itself)

export format will be "delimited text" (*.txt)

open that file in excel
typically you can use default formatting
adjust width of columns as necessary in excel

I was about to add a comment about having to pick a cell before exporting but it seems that they fixed that quirk with the latest build/update/service pack. :)

When opening the TXT file, watch the formatting. Though we use this technique very little, we consistently have problems with number formatting when we do. A TXT file is really dumb compared to a true XLS (or XLSX) file. The wizard assumes General for the formatting which might make a mess of cost columns or dates or anything else with a number. The format options are limited as well - no fractions or currency or pecentage... We have the most luck making all the fields Text when using the wizard and then changing stuff after the fact.

If the schedule you are exporting does not have any numbers, never mind...
