Hi, I have some drafters using AutoCAD Map 3D 2010 with Carlson Survey 2010 on a 32 bit machine w/ Windows XP and whenever they open a read only file and attempt any command (copy in particular) it cuases a fatal error. Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at 1a69e0efh. I have been looking every where for a solution on this but coming up with nothing. If any of you have an idea what is causing this or, even better, have a solution on this please let me know.

Thanks,
Mike

The file may be corrupt.

Try inserting it into a clean template file and run an audit.

Why is the file read-only? network permissions, read-only attribute on the file? read-only attribute on the folder? or just opening read-only? different cause can have different effects.

If they xref or insert the problem file into a new drawing, does it work or do they have the same problem?

It is read only due to network permissions. However, it has become apparent that Carlson Survey 2010 is causing the problem. For which they intend to release a fix "soon".

Thanks all.

Carlson 2010 also seems to cause a lot of errors that dont occur in Vanilla CAD with custom routines we use. It seems to not like commands that are called via reactors.
