SEISMIC LOAD ACCORDING TO UBC 97

I have noticed that equations 30-5 and 30-6 (as per UBC 97 ) to find out the minimum and maximum of base shear force are not considered by the progarm while claculatin the seismic force according to UBc 97 . please advise.
