nested dimensions and cannoscale

I have a block drawing with nested blocks, all kinds of objects in it (text, dynamic blocks, dimensions, etc.) in it. I am inserting it off the toolpalette with a number of scale factors and resetting the cannoscale to ready the drawing for more annotating. It all looks good until it's time to explode it. The ordinate dimensions that were nested in my block disappear to 1:1. I was expecting them to follow with the cannoscale setting. What am I doing wrong?
