View Full Version : Mapping angled lines onto a curved, canted wall surface

I have a client who would like to add angled lines (reveals in concrete) to a curved wall canted out 10 degrees. The closest I've come to defining these lines is to create a mass with the correct angle, add a wall by face and join geometry. I set the work plane to the sloped wall and pick the resulting joint line to create the curved line on the face of the curved wall.
Easy enough (I guess ) for one line but this needs to happen at a regular spacing along the entire wall and when I try to array or rotate or reproduce the line along the rest of the curve it blows up!

I believe I've come close by grouping the line and arraying it but it's not quite there. Any suggestions?

How about using a Curtain System in lieu of a wall and reveals?

Make the curtain panels the "wall" material, then use the curtaingrids to set up
the repeating pattern?

just a thought......

Cheat!
Make another version of the wall that's not canted, and draw your lines on that one.
Or, make a family that has the wall (it won't be a wall, of course, but what is a wall anyway?) and then cant the family in the project.
