Colour Scheme Legends and office standards

We're trying to establish a standard colour scheme for use on all projects whereby we can select specific colours and use them as our office standard. Since it's tied into area plans how do we keep it consistent without having to redo it each time? Some challenges we've not yet mastered are being able to change the name of the colour to suit each project. Since REVIT has a default colour scheme is there a way to modify this file somehow ...?

If you create a key schedule and assign colors using that, then you can change the name of the value and it will update. We use Program Category. But you can create anything you want.
