Create in place family problem

I have a problem creating an in place family using

Model>Create>Solid>Sweep>Pick Path..... option

I can get my sweep to run round a Roof by extrusion (Works Brillantly) shown in the attached JPG.
Now I'm trying to run a sweep around the top of walls with some curves. It looks like it is going to work right until you select "Finish Family" and then it come up with the error message "Can't make type wall1".
I can get the sweep to work on one wall at a time....but not go round all four walls.
Anyone else had this?????. :?

Post the .rvt and I'll take a look...or someone else will. :wink:

Could be that the sweep profile is intersecting/overlaying itself.

Try changing the profile to something smaller and see how you go.

You could also try making the 2 ends as roofs by footprint, then make the central sweep and join geometry. ( The central section must be a sweep not an extrusion because the end curved sections are each a different radius )

Thanks for the suggestions. I just thought the sweep should easily go round the top of the walls as it did with the extruded roof. I have tried various different profiles to sweep around...but no joy. Never mind there are other methods with the same result, just a bit slower.
