There are some new features in Navisworks that you might want to check out when you get the shipping version next month. Some of my favorites are:

1. Section tool that you can manually manipulate! No more guessing as to where the section is or the section box for that matter. You now have a gizmo which is really nice.
2. Gantt chart tab for Timeliner so you can view your MS Project or other project management software in a Gantt view format within Timeliner. This is extremely useful for coordinating the simulation with MS Project or Primavera.
3. Support for Revit Room data and objects! Yeah!
4. Batch Export Utility (subscription tool, now in main interface)
5. FBX support for import and export (subscription tool, now in main interface).
6.Consolidated navigation.

When I did some sneak peeks for what is new in Navisworks 2011, the first two where pretty much my favorites. I also appreciate that while Autodesk added the ribbon to this interface, they also built in a switch to switch back to the classic interface.

Not all daily Navisworks users have access to their company's subscription account... I'd guess more than 50% of all valid Navis users do not have subscription access.

Did the users crash the subscription center? I can't even get the page to come up.

Room tagging is very helpful, #3 above.

Not to familiar with Navisworks file formats, but will Navisworks 2011 work with users of Navisworks 2010? Example, if my firm upgrades to 2011 but our consultants remain in 2010 will we be able to still work on the same files?

Yes. You can back save to 2010 and 2009 NWD and NWF files, so there should be not issues as long as you save out a copy in the previous format before sending it out to them.

Is there a way to customize the hotkeys/shortcut commands in NW Manage 2011? The only customization I see is within the Panels as described in the Help.

You need to modify the RoamerCommands.xml located in C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2011\Layout

I would back up the original before making changes.

Now if we could get Clash Detective to use that data and have an automatic and easy way to group clashes by room...

This could be the start of small macro's.
How to add an (2) extra Icon(s) to save your file directly as a NWF file or a 2010 NWD file
