Easiest way to make existing phase construction show up shaded solid grey

I have tried playing around a little with filters to get the existing construction to show up filled solid grey in plan/ section/ elevation, but I can't seem to get it to work. Can anyone advise me how to do this?

Under the Manage Tab, In the Phases dialog box, you can set the 'Graphic Overrides' so that the existing cut pattern is a solid color.
