There is an instance parameter that is included in the wall based plumbing family template that is for "elevation" - height above host level - that I cannot find in the family, and does not seem to directly correspond to my geometry.

Is there a way to manipulate this within the family editor? Or, at least tie it directly to geometry of my choice?

EDIT:
1.) The "elevation" does seem to correspond to the bottom of geometry, and/or reference lines - which in my case, a ref. line, extends well below the actual geometry.
2.) An added parameter to control Height affects the geometery in a family, but not in the project, as it would appear the "elevation" parameter overrides it.

Any thoughts or comments on the uneditable "elevation" parameter?

Be a little weary. I have tried this with windows (which are wall based) as I wanted my windows to reference their top. I find it frustrating that when you change a windows' size it retails the sill height....

If you start messing with the 'defines origin' you can get some wacky results.

Noted; thanks for the heads-up.
In my case I simply wanted to control the centerline of an escutcheon but the elevation was reporting a seemingly random number. Until now, I never really thought of changing the "origin" of a family.
