I have a few isolated column foundations directly from the OEM Revit library and the thickness of the foundation doesn't show up as a property when creating a schedule. This 'Thickness' param is in this foundation family. Why won't it show up as a property in the schedule?

I am able to successfully schedule these foundations, except for the thickness.

My wall foundations ARE showing a property namerd 'Foundation thickness' and it does correctly display in the schedule.

Thanks for your help,
Rob

I believe your Thickness won't show up in your schedule because if you go into the family and check out the parameter you will see that is is a family parameter and not a shared parameter. Family parameter's cannot be scheduled. So you would have to go into that family and reassociate that thickness to a Shared parameter then load that shared parameter into your project for it to work.

Kinda a lot of work but if you want it to be automatic that is how you have to do it.

Kinda stinks when you think about autodesk giving junk families that don't do what they should.

Good luck, reply if I didn't explain good enough.

I think I can pull that off. It's just odd that you can schedule the Width & Length, but not Thickness . If I open the family to edit, Width & Thickness params cannot be modified, but Thickness can, so there must be something different about thath param?

You nailed it. those two are system shared parameters that you cannot modify. If you created your own from a template those parameters would be built into the template.

They are schedulable because they are Shared parameters.

Hope that helps. Also, if you do a search for autodesk seek standards you will find the approved Autodesk Seek Shared parameter file that has many of the Parameters that you will end up using.

Have a great day,

Good Luck
