Credit for this goes to James V from SOM. Lets say you want to look only at an interior stair tower in 3d. Just go to a 3d view, pick view > orient by other view> select the callout plan view of your stair. This will create a section box around that area of your model. Now you can roll around it, stretch it up etc. This is very helpful in studying your model. You can orient to a section view also.
