View Full Version : 2011 delivery - Win7 64 problems with Download Manager?

Thinking about the impending RAC 2011 product delivery, when I downloaded 3dsMaxDesign2011, Autodesk Download Manager did not appear to work.

Fortunately I manually downloaded 2 of the 3 files but still cannot complete a download of the 3rd file samples files for 3dsMD2011.

I assume that this is also going to be a problem with RAC 2011 - or is it just me that has problems with Win 7 64 bit and Download Manager?

I could not download MAX D 2011 on Win XP x64 or Vista x63 & x32 using the Download Manager. I feel it's an IE 8 issue.

I manually downloaded all three files.

thanks Paul,

It may be a coincidence but using Opera I changed the Options in sub center to allow browser download and have just got the 3rd 3dsMD2011 file that way.

Clicking 'Download' in IE8 without the browser option enabled in sub center still offers you the option of a manual download but that failed every time I tried it - right at the end of the download.

Go to the Downloads section--it's there.

2 huge files. 1st one is 3GB, 2nd is almost 1 GB.

I had no problems with the ACA 2011 download. Well, other than I was downloading ACA! ;) Windows 7 x64 and Chrome.

My reseller's Revit/3dsMD expert says Download Manager never works for him either...

Phew, it's not just me  ;)

Hi all -

Just downloaded all three parts with no issues, using the Download Manager.
I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and used the latest Firefox browser.

Have you tried using Chrome, Firefox or Safari.....whenever I have issues with an Autodesk site or download I use Safari and the problem goes away.

This is a Microsoft problem.

You are quite right, thanks.

The latest Firefox works fine with Download Manager.

I tend to uninstall Firefox and Chrome when Secunia PSI says they are insecure, but currently they are flagged as 'secure for browsing', as is Opera which overall I prefer - but looks like Firefox will be the one to use next week (if it is next week, my reseller is saying a fortnight).

Yes in fact the rumors point to next week as the release date for Revit 2011......and I will be using Firefox to download it.........that is if the rumors are true.

Greg Arkin says it is definitely the 16th in another thread (but which timezone... from past experience it is the end of our working day in the UK that it is posted ;) )

Thought it may have been our corporate gateway blocking things but also had no luck with the download manager on W7 64 (basically it didn't load/work).

Manual download was ok but found better not to do more than one file at a time.
