We had a power outage, and one of our client machines now gets the "A valid license could not be obtained by the network license manager error [-5.412.0]. All other clients are fine but he can not run Acad 2010. I tried repairing the install but no effect, other users get the same erro rlogging onto his machine. Any ideas?

The licenser server never got a message requesting to log out the user. Restart the lic svr service on your server pc.

WE had the same issue in one of our labs, restarting the license server did not help the situation. Is it possible a file has become corrupt? Can it be copied from another client machine or the server, or will this requite the machine to be re-imaged?

There is a list of FLEXLM error codes here -
http://resources.arcgis.com/content/kbase?fa=articleShow&d=29930

It's and ESRI site, but still applicable, Autodesk and ESRI are licensing the same license server.

In your case, the -5 means (apparently) that the client workstation is looking for a feature code that doesn't exist. It sounds to me like soethign is corrupt at the client end, and teh feature code it requests got scrambled.

Try to go to the directory:
XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\Adlm
Vista/Windows 7 - C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Adlm

Then delete the file:

- cascadeinfo.cas

Restart the computer - Hope it works

I am having the same exact problem with one of my staff's PC's. We have Revit 2010 & Revit 2011, but the error is only a problem for Revit 2011. He can open Revit 2010 just fine.

Sadly, the project that he is working on is in Revit 2011, so we need to resolve this asap for him.

Did deleting the cascadeinfo.cas file work?

Just tried deleting the cascadeinfo.cas file exactly as described by mpk and it fixed the problem. THANK YOU MPK!

The error [-5.412.0] occurred after this user got a bluescreen of death and had to force his PC to shut down.
