Hi all,

I'm an architect not an electrical engineer but I'm using Revit MEP to draw my electrical construction documents. I don't need to get fancy with all kinds of parametric data and such. I just need to show typical light fixture symbols, switches, receptacles, and all of the wiring connecting this and that.

I am running into a problem.

I have one light fixture each at the top and bottom of a stair. I have a three way switch at the top and bottom of the stair as well. I'm sure you all see this where you turn on the switch at the bottom of the stair, it turns on both upper and lower lights, and then when you get to the top, you shut them off with the upper switch.

Ok, I have gotten revit to connect the lights and the switches into one circuit. I then clicked on "Arc" to draw the wires. The problem is it only drew the wires for the fixtures and switch on the first level and doesn't show the wires going up the stair to the 2nd level. Furthermore, the light and switch on the 2nd level aren't even shown connected by a wire.

How can I connect these and show a wire going up the stair (and down too when you're on the 2nd level)?

Thanks,

Danny

you can just hit the wire command and connect the switches to the fixtures, and show unconnected wires labelled up and down, see attached.

I see. I thought MEP had some way of handling this automatically.

Thanks!
