we have a user who is always having issues removing xrefs. after a fresh installation of ACAD 2010 mep, this user is able to select multiple xrefs and delete them. two hours later this user cannot select more than a single xref. not sure what commands he is issuing in CAD to disable this function or if such function exists... enable/disable the multiple selection of xrefs. this occurrence is not OS sensitive. has anyone come across this behavior in CAD?

Congrats on your 1st post.
The only thing I can think of now is the PICKADD sysvar. If set to 0 you have to hold down the Shift key to select more than one object (not just XRefs), set to 1 to work as normal.
Otherwise, are you referring to the XRef Manager palette / ClassicXref dialog? Is he maybe in its treeview state? See top-right of either, there should be 2 buttons (one for list view, the other tree view). When in tree view you can only select one at a time, in list view you can select more.

I could be wrong, but shouldn't you be detaching Xref's not deleting them?
