I am reproducing some fleetwood window details within my revit project. I imported the DWG file into revit, but I cannot recreate many of the small filleted and chamfered corners because I get the error message "Element Too Small on Screen". how do you all get around this problem? I need to show these windows accurately in my details.

This annoys me. I have had to comprimise so many times because of the limit on the small, do we need anything less than 0.8mm?...That's for us to decide! I usually resort to #**#CAD, pardon my french, and import where needed.

things are smaller than 1/16"?

almost btrusty! the minimum length for lines is 1/32" - at least in our imperial world.

So many times we detailed things in CAD that we really should not have - just because we could zoom in and do it. How can you see a radius fillet with a tny radius?

That is the problem with most manufacurer drawings. They detail every tiny element because it is their production drawing. We don't need that. We don't need window gaskets with filled regions! We don't need screws with heads and threads!

If it's too short a line in Revit, then don't include it.

If in the family editor, you COULD import the dwg in a larger scale, create the revit detail lines using the pick line tool. When done, get rid of the dwg and downscale all the detail lines to original size... now lines shorter then 1/32" or 0,8 mm are accepted by revit. :screwy:
(This only works within the family editor though)

First off there are times when you need to draw to this level of detail. And yes at half or full scale drawings you can see this level of detail when plotted. Plus, as "drawings" move to digital you will see this level of detail easier. It is a personal preference sometimes, buy Revit should not be defining this for me. I can work around the limitation but it requires extra work and redrawing.
As for bringing things into the family editor? You can bring in lines from a CAD file that are shorter, but still only to a point. Plus, the hatch regions usually get deleted so you'll need to draw a filled region which you won't be able to select all the lines from the imported CAd file as revit won't be able to create the small segments. So ax I was directed from another post I started... Has this been changed on 2011?
