Is there any way you can specify what pipe type is used when you draw a pipe from a connector? As it is right now when I take a pipe off of a connector, I have to look at the type selector to make sure I'm on the correct pipe type. I don't always remember to do this and constantly have to go back and put pipes back on the right type.
I read the help menu and according to that if you have the pipe types set correctly under conversion, it will use the right type only when using the generate layout tool. Well the generate layout tool sucks. Any other way of doing this?

Hi,
you can specify the system of your connector if your doing a systematic pipe layout..
edit the fittings and then select the connector and go to instance properties and you can see their on what system on would you like to use of your fittings or connectors..
i hope these can help you..

I don't really know how (or that) you can use the connector dictate what pipe type is used by default. There is however a way to assign what type of system the pipe is associated with. I like to use systems in place of types whenever possible, but even if you still want to use types to keep things organized in your project you could probably device some way of using systems as a check. For example you could set up views that show only pipes that are part of sanitary systems and periodically check that they are all of the right type. Hope that helps.

Pipe Types are a great way to define default fittings for different types of pipe (waste vs/ DCW) - but there is no way that I've ever seen to define the default pipe type from the connector. You just have to check the Type Selector before you draw that first pipe.
