I have been using reviTTools off and on to purge out cad data from our files and families.

Today I tried using it on a titleblock family and it came up with 2487 elements in the file. I selected everything and there are only 336 elements. I tried to select element 2487 by element ID. It selected something in the "Other" category with a blank element properties box. I can't see it, copy/ paste it or delete it but its there (or at least selectable). Presumably this is the case for the other 2150 elements if I could guess the ID number.

I tried the same thing in a blank titleblock family with similar results (4 drawn and 1058 elements total).

I checked and the blank family's sheet boundary lines element ids are 24, 26, 30 and 34. I thought that perhaps one of their IDs was 1058 or 2487 which could account for the erroneous element count from reviTTools.

Do the families have old ghosts from previous versions and innumerable upgrades? Is reviTTools picking up something that isn't there? Or what am I missing?

I don't know how their code works, but if I remember right if you get all elements in the project you will get way more than just what is drawn in the project. Each wall type is an element, views I believe show up as elements. It's a little foggy since I haven't been in coding anything for quite a while now, but I think that's one possibility...
