I had made some walkthroughs in Revit 2010 in shaded w/ edges mode. Where the trees were in the way of the camera shot i did a visibility override and set them to transparent, so that it only showed the outline of the trees and did not block the view.

However, now in 2011, i tried to redo these walkthroughs in realistic mode, but the trees are completely invisible when set to transparent.

Does anyone know how i can fix this issue, or a workaround for it?

I want to show that there are trees there, but i do not want them blocking the view completely.

Anyone have any ideas?

Try opening the RPC family itself, and add a Material parameter.

Then load into your project. Then go to the properties of the RPC and
give it a transparent material. Does this work?

Im in the middle of a render right now, so i cant test it right this second.

However, i am fairly certain that the rpc families dont allow you to edit much.

Does anyone know for sure if you can add a mat parameter to a RPC tree?

Then why did you imply doubt by saying "Does it work?"
Just to make me feel small, perhaps?
As if you were saying "Does it work?.. Of course it does you imbecile!"

Im just kidding of course, but in all seriousness thanks cliff!

Glad to help.

( Just making sure that what we did worked for you, with your families and specific project.)
