ECW Image Crop?

I am trying to crop a 6GB ecw image to the area I want but I keep freezing. Any options?
Civil3d 09 with Raster Design 09

The first thing I would try is to close everything possible, e.g. stuff in the system tray. type in Start>Run> msconfig and turn everything you can at startup. Then, check your allocation for pagefile size. Bump it up if you can. Of course if you don't have much physical ram to begin with, you'll still freeze because you don't have enough ram to keep track of the paging. You could also try to ftp it to someone with a better pc and they could break the file into sections or resample to a lower resolution.
