Hi All,

Is it at all possible?

Scenario: the company I work for now insists on having the Title Page details (clients, job particulars, etc. - all together ~ 30 shared parameters) in ALL CAPITALS, while every other sheet's title block parameters (many are obviously the same) are to be in all small case.

Obviously, I want to avoid typing all the parameters twice, but so far I can't think of any way for typing it once only (say in all small) and have it in two different parameters sets - one small and the other in all caps.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

Well, you could... On the title sheet assign the labels to a font that only has capital letters. You can create one or buy one if you don't have one already.

Steve,

Thanks for the advice! This company uses ONLY Arial Narrow, which doesn't make my job that much easier, however, I guess I could create my own version substituting all small letters with their capital counterparts... Pain in the proverbial though - just for the sake of one lousy title page block... I will think about it.

For now I resorted to a crude method of duplicate parameters with "(small)" in their corresponding names. It's far from elegant, makes everybody's job a little bit more annoying (to fill-in twice the same values), it's prone to typo-mistakes but that's what the boss wanted... quickly... ;)

But your suggestion has some merit...

By the way, for anybody who is looking for free fonts: http://www.fontcenter.com/

I figured it wouldn't get a lot of traction but it would technically work. Good luck!

I just downloaded Bulk Rename Utility, for renaming content and changing Case, and prefixes, and etc. If only such an app could work WITHIN a program. Probably never happen, but MAN its cool!

Yes, it's very cool little app (once you get used to its interface) and very powerful too. I've been using it for about 7 months now...

There is a free tool provided by Avatech (http://www.avatech.com/solutions/building-design/product-details.aspx?product=44) that has a Case Changer included in it. That's teh good news, the bad news is that I don't think it will work on these parameters. I bring this up because I think it would be possible to script an API tool similar to this case changer that could do the same to parameters. Note that the free tool download link is in the bottom right and requires your email address and contact info.

Aside from that I would agree swith Steve's assessment of changing the font to an all caps one. Good luck!

Yes, I've got this tool for a long time now. It doesn't do a trick. It's a "post-production" tool for text rather than "pre-defined" parameter style formatting tool inbuilt (say) inside title block family.

Ideally, I would like to have an option inside a label definition, where I could toggle the text size, font and case (parameter format editor). Other than that maybe an ability to copy values from one label to another (reference one label to another). So I could type it once (regardless of font, case, etc.) and populate several other (differently formated) labels with these values. Or maybe both of these options...
