My families are loading transparent

When I load a custom family using the default gray shading the family comes into the project opaque. When I select a color in lieu of the default gray the family comes in about 50% transparent even though the shading transparency slider is set to 0%. Could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Can you please post a rvt. file (simplified, purged) where we can look at this issue?

Is the shade transparency slider set to 0% in the family environment or in the project environment? Once the family is loaded into the project, the materials and styles from the project will rule over the family ones.

Create a Material Parameter in the family, then load into the project.

Once in the project, you can select the material for the family from the list of materials
which reside in the project.
