Hey everyone,

I'm new to this forum, so I don't know if anyone is aware of how to deal with a quick fix if you're wanting an "irregular crop region". I just create the typical retangular region and then I activate the view, click on the "filled region" and create a "no hatch" area while using an "invisible line".

Hope this helps someone out there

Nice tip!

I just tried it on a view & it works great.

Nice one gregcashen...My side is hurting from laughing so hard. With all the Central Crashes and other problems I've had, it feels so good to laugh that hard :)

No problem. Always try to provide a little comic relief.

That's right Vincent, I couldn't get annotations to hide with the "no hatch region". But you can always just right click on them and select hide from view.

Greg...keep it straight will you?? Revitor and ADTman are each others nemesis...Archman is Revitor's sidekick! You've got to pay more attention to the character development!! :D Now "Vectorman" is a whole nuther issue...when he and Rastorizor get going, watch out!!

Yes you can hide them of course.. but I thought it would be nice if I could show them for the visible part. Now I can only have an irregular crop -without- the dimensioning.. well, still pretty nice Greg, thnx.

You do need to watch out when using these, unless the Revit programmers have changed something recently. My experience with these "no hatch regions" (actually, they're white-solid-hatch regions, right?) is that they will overwrite your title blocks and other items like view titles in the sheet view. And you don't see this effect till you've done a print preview or actually printed your drawing.

Thanks for the heads up Dean. As I've come to realize slowly, when it comes to plotting, what you see is not always what you get. :?

BTW, Revitor and I were arch enemies for years, but we mutually realized that when it comes to Revit, collaboration beats competition. :D
