Filtering sections in views by section type

Is there any way to filter sections by type?

Our section family has 3 types (Building section, wall section & detail section), as an example there are times that we only want to show wall sections in a particular view. Up until now we have had to manually select the building and detail sections and hide them in the view. This is a huge management nightmare as anytime a new detail or building section is added to the project the user has to remember to hide those new callouts.

So, is there a way using filters to hide a particular section type?

Yes.

You can filter views by Section Type.

Take a look at the Help under "creating a filter"

Just as Cliff said. These filters can then be placed into a View Template and appliew to a number of views at one time.
