Revit 2009 64-bit on Windows 7 Machine, cannot PDF Revit MEP views on a sheet. Revit will crash every time, (this is only if the views are cropped and it only happens with Mechanical Discipline).
Revit 2009 on XP Machine, no problem at all.
Revit 2010 64-bit on Windows 7 Machine, no problem at all.
Revit 2011 64-bit on Windows 7 Machine, no problem at all.
Problem is I cannot upgrade to 2010 or 2011 yet because of client BIM requirements.

The thing is Revit 2009 is known to not be Windows 7 compliant. We had problems as well where we upgraded to Windows 7 for everyone 'cause IT wanted a simplified environment, but now we have broken Revit 2009 and VERY broken AutoCAD Architecture 2009. In hind sight I think leaving the ACA team on Windows XP would have been a better approach. The chances of Autodesk addressing any Windows 7 related issues in 2009 products is basically zero, so either upgrading the tools or downgrading the OS seems the only answer. We are trying to do the former but migrating standards and customization in ACA is a living hell, as if I needed a reminder of how much I hated ADT. ;)

What are you using to create the PDF's?
I use CutePDF and have no issues....but I am using Revit Arch 2009 with Win 7 64bit...

Just tried CutePDF, does not work.
I am using:
PDFCreator or Adobe Professional
Printing to the plotters works. The perfect storm to make it not work is:
a cropped view on a sheet, using the mechanical discipline in the view properties, Windows 7, Revit 2009, a PDF writer.
Change any one of those things and it PDFs just fine.

Try PDF 995.
I've had good luck with that.
You could also make a DWF, then save out a PDF from DR? ( can't remember
workflow on that.)
Another option would be save out a jpg and convert it to PDF with Adobe.
cheers

We have Arch, Struct, and MEP all working in Revit 2009 on Windows 7 64 bit in our office on several projects with none having the issue you describe. We create lots of PDF's using Bluebeam PDF as our PDF printer.
Hope you can find a resolution for your problem.

I was having problems with CutePDF in W7x64 & Revit 2011, so I was actually just checking out alternatives yesterday.
I stumbled upon "Bullzip":
http://www.bullzip.com/products/pdf/info.php
Only used it once so far to print out a set, but worked really well and had the most typical architectural page sizes built-in.

I figured out it was a couple of shared parameters in the titleblock that was making it misbehave, although it shouldn't. It is definitely a Windows 7/Revit 2009 combo-bug.

You might also try batching Postscript files (*.ps) then batch convert to PDF. Two steps - but very fast.
