How do I link a view template to a callout tool?

I've made an interior elevation callout and an interior elevation view template. How do I get the view template to be applied by default when using the interior elevation callout?

When you Apply View Template to Current View you should have this option. I've had mixed results.

The best practice (imho) is to make these the Default View Template for the views you need them to be in. This way at the end of the day you can just Apply Default View Template to the views to get them back to the VG state you need them to be at.

So close! It sets the view template as the default but it doesn't apply the settings!

Honestly you'll find that's OK in the scheme of Revit process. You'll find that you do a lot of prodding and poking at your views throughout the design process. This is the snap back to how you want it when you're ready to print (with a few exceptions of course).
