View Full Version : Unintentional Balluster Offset

I have a railing with a custom baluster. Both are very simple flat bar shapes. I created the rail using a railing profile family and made the baluster using the baluster family. Both are set to equal about a pinned center reference plane. The problem I have is that when I bring them into Revit, there is an offset between the two. I know I can correct the offset in the railing family but I don't understand why it's doing this.

Anyone have an idea? Thanks.

Ian

Did you create the rail type from an existing one? The existing ones have a 1" offset on the rails somewhere if i recall correctly.

I didn't. I started with a clean rail profile, and the offset distance is 19/128", which is a bit random.

Is there any way you can post a project with just the rail in it so we can take a look?
