Good day,

Does anyone have a link to, or any resources for - what the system lines styles in Revit are used for?

The styles I am talking about specifically are the ones with the 'angle brackets', that you cannot rename, delete etc...

I recently discovered Revit uses the '<Beyond>' line style to show elements below the bottom plane of the primary range when the view depth is set to a level below the primary range.

After discovering this, Revit got a WHOLE lot better. I tried playing around with some of the other system line styles, but was not getting the same effect or results I expected. An example would be using the '<Overhead>' line style to show elements above...

I have looked for a "Definition" through a few Revit text books, including 'Mastering Revit Architecture 2010' (Demchak, Dzambazova, Krygiel) and also the Revit help menu... In all cases I have come up short.

Ideas? Thoughts?

As always thanks in advance...
