I wish that there was an easier way to make precast walls rather than modifying an curtain wall or building an reveal to make joints. Or make an add on pack for purchase. I work in the precast/tilt-up industry and modifying takes too much time, especially when the Architect starts changing wall sizes and moving openings. That's all I want from Autodesk.

There is, use walls with disallow join, lock your gaps to the grids or each other.

I wish I could "default" to disallow join, but otherwise have had no problems detailing tilt panels in Revit.

how do you disjoin a wall, i have drawn some rc precast walls but when i want to copy them my disjoin box is greyed out and cannot turn this on or off, and i can not find a option when setting the options for the wall.

At the end of your wall, right click, and you should get a pop up saying allow/disallow join.

Unfortunately you need to do this for each end of each wall, hence my wish that you could disallow while placing the walls.

Once it's done, you can copy walls and they will keep their setting, so it might be quicker to copy walls and then align them than disallowing each end join, but if you have the gaps locked to grids, it can be very quick to adjust to any architectural changes.

Usually any rebar will follow the adjustments, but things like cranks and corner bars may adjust length rather than moving, so they would need checking, but still much better than reveals or curtain walls in my opinion. (Although I would hope any architectural adjustments would be very minimal once panel "detailing" has commenced)

Have you ever tried to use Column template to produce Precast Wall element?

I detail precast walls all day and I usually start with an Exterior - 8" Concrete "Basic Wall" type, duplicate it and create the real wall thickness/type I need. When you need joints you can either use the Split tool to create a joint but you'll have to create some reference lines at your real joint locations and then drag the ends of each wall to those lines, but be sure to disallow wall joins before doing that.... or if you have the subscription update you can use the Split With Gap tool and specify your joint width and it does all that for you but it doesn't always place the joint exactly where you want it but it saves a lot of time.
